Feeling Off? Reset with This Simple Salt Soak Ritual

Ever Have One of Those Days?

Ever have one of those days when everything feels off for no reason? Your body feels heavy, your head’s in a fog, and you're just... not in the mood.

Maybe you feel jittery for no clear reason, or you wake up feeling like you got up on the wrong side of the bed.

They call it the "Monday blues," but let’s be real—it doesn’t always wait for Monday. Sometimes, it hits midweek or even on a sunny Saturday.

On days like that, I’ve found one simple ritual that helps reset everything: a short bath.

Not a long soak or anything fancy—just a quick rinse, or if I have a few extra minutes, a DIY salt bath. It’s calming, cleansing, and surprisingly uplifting.

My Go-To Mood Reset: DIY Salt Bath

A salt bath doesn’t have to be complicated. I keep it simple. A handful of mineral or Epsom salt in the tub, maybe a few drops of calming essential oils—lavender, eucalyptus, or citrus depending on my mood.

Why salt?

It helps relax tired muscles and can even ease that restless, jittery feeling. Plus, the scent alone can change your mental state.
When the weather’s hot or I’m feeling overheated, I keep the water cool—not freezing, just refreshing. That contrast wakes me up in the best way and gives my nervous system a little nudge to reset.

Quick Tips for Your Own DIY Bath Ritual:

  • Use what you have: Sea salt, Epsom salt, or even bamboo salt can work.

  • Add essential oils: Try lavender for calm, peppermint for energy, or bergamot for balance.

  • Keep it short: 10 – 20 minutes is enough to feel different.

  • Cool it down: Especially when the temperature’s high, a cooler bath can be more refreshing than hot.

No pressure, no perfection. Just one small moment of care.
